Although electric kilns are a more preferred choice, gas kilns are occasionally favourable for experienced kiln users who have a specific style of firing and process they wish to accomplish. The benefit of a gas kiln is that you can control the atmosphere that the piece will be exposed to, which effectively affects the final outcome of glaze and clay bodies. This is very effective for reduction firings, and allows for a way to add a different dimension to ceramic art, bringing out wonderful colours and making aspects of the artwork unique.
All gas fired kilns comply with Australiana Gas Regulations, and we have technicians on hand that are certified to handle these kilns.
